Background Information
William J. Clinton was the 42nd president of the United States of America. He was born on August 19th,1946, in Hope, Arkansas and excelled as a student. In 1975 Clinton married Hillary Rodham and in 1980 they had their only child Chelsea. In 1976 Clinton was elected Arkansas Attorney General and went on to win governorship in 1978. In 1992 Clinton beat George Bush and Ross Perot in the presidential race and was re-elected in 1996.

Article 1:Perjury (lying under oath) before Grand Jury
-Clinton lied under oath when he testified before Ken Starr's Grand Jury about having an affair with Monica Lewinsky.
Article 2:Perjury in Paula Jones case
-In the Paula Jones case both the president and Monica Lewinsky denied having an affair under oath.
Article 3:Obstruction of justice related to Jones case
-Paula Jones filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Clinton ,but lawyers of Clintons argued that the lawsuit should not be allowed to go forward while Clinton was in office, so Clinton's Immunity Claim reached the Supreme Court but the court ruled unanimously against the president.

-Clinton used his staff to slow the Grand Jury process, knowing that he had not told the entire truth about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Results of Impeachment
On February 12, 1999 Clinton was acquitted of both charges from the articles by the senate and went on to the end of his term in 1999. Clinton now lives in Chappaqua, New York and still actively participates in public affairs, combating diseases and promoting empowerment to poor people.
